Volunteer Opportunities in Room 14A charter school is built on parent involvement. In our classroom, I appreciate the partnership that we create in order to provide the best possible education for your child.
There are many things you can do to get involved in our classroom both at home or at school. Here are some ways that you can help our classroom by volunteering your time: Classroom Volunteers: Classroom volunteers are a welcome part of our classroom community! Classroom volunteers must have a negative TB test on file in the office. Please make sure to check-in at the office and obtain a visitor's pass prior to entering the classroom. Classroom volunteers can help with making copies, signing off jobs, teaching a special lesson, classroom parties, running our M.E.R.I.T. Money Market, and more! Chaperoning a Field Trip: Field Trips are a wonderful alternative educational experience for our students, and provide an interactive supplement to our curriculum. Our classroom relies on parent drivers and chaperones to make our field trips possible. Please review the DMCS Volunteer Policy for specific requirements regarding chaperoning a field trip. Attend a PTO or Board Meeting on behalf of our Classroom: PTO meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM. Board meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Volunteer at Home: Take-home projects are often available and are a great way to support our classroom! At-home projects can include things like cutting projects, washing dishes, washing towels or rugs, pencil sharpening, animal care, etc. Please email me if you are able to help with any of these tasks! |
